A NOT-FOR-PROFIT tyre safety organisation has produced a website that allows drivers to locate a free tyre ‘health check’ during October. The website, from safety campaigners TyreSafe, will let users enter their home postcode to find the nearest garage to them that is offering to check for any issues like too little tread depth, incorrect pressures and foreign objects like nails or glass. October is set to be Tyre Safety Month, and with the weather turning cold and the nights drawing in – especially when the hour goes back – it’s crucial that drivers make sure their rubber isn’t putting their safety in jeopardy.
McLaren MP4-12C High Sport - 10 cars made and just a white one left
We’ve discovered that there have actually been 10 McLaren MP4-12C High Sport models created – and one is up for grabs. Last week we reported on a very special run of five special McLarens – the McLaren MP4-12C High Sport – commissioned by a dealer and created by McLaren Special Operations at Woking. The MP4-12C High Sport adopted cues from Mclaren’s MP4-12C GT3 for its cosmetic makeover with a new nose, new back bumper, bigger air vents, new diffuser and new rear wing, all set off by a new set of bespoke alloys.
The Mercedes SLS AMG has gone in to production in Germany
I don’t know why – as Mercedes hadn’t previously announced it – but we guessed that they’d already started to put the Mercedes SLS AMG in to production ready for the first customer cars to start hitting in the Spring. But apparently they’ve only just started. The SLS AMG is due to arrive in Germany at the end of March at a base price of €177,310 and is being produced at the Mercedes factory in Sindelfengen, Germany.
